Virgin Islands / June 5, 2017

The Women’s Coalition’s 33rd Annual Women’s Race took place on Sunday in Christiansted, with this year’s affair seeing yet another large number of participants.

The race, Women’s Coalition biggest fundraising effort, sees domestic violence survivors participating in the women-only race every year, proudly demonstrating growth and healing from the trauma of abusive relationships, sexual assault and other crimes, according to Women’s Coalition.

The race started 4:45 p.m. at the Christiansted waterfront near Fort Christianvaern, and spanned 2-miles, with participants making their way to the stoplights near the Canegata Ballpark, and back to downtown Christiansted where it began.
