The Virgin Islands Senior Men National Basketball team beat Vanderbilt University 81-78 with a buzzer beater three-point shot during a down-to-the-wire game on Sunday night at the St. Croix Central High School gymnasium.

The game was one of two sets of the Paradise Jam Exhibition Summer Tour. The V.I. will face James Madison University in the next game.

The Virgin Islands placed fifth in the last Centrobasket Tournament and is scheduled to take on Canada, Venezuela and Argentina in Bahia Blanca, Argentina. Argentina along with the next best finisher from the group advances to the final four of the AmeriCup.

Watch the buzzer-beater than netted the territory’s team the win last night.
