Truck Loaded With Debris Overturns, Snarling Traffic

News / Virgin Islands / January 16, 2018

ST. CROIX — A truck loaded with debris heading east near the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands, overturned on Tuesday afternoon, snarling traffic on the Queen Mary Highway during the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

According to the truck driver, while heading east, the left front tire suddenly blew, and at that moment he immediately jumped out of the driver’s side window — a decision he suggested saved his life. He was, however, in some pain, as he could be seen rubbing his chest and knee.

The crashed truck, whose front was completely mangled by the accident, was carried away by flatbed vehicle. There were no fatalities.
