ST. THOMAS — A routine traffic stop by police in St. Thomas resulted in the arrest of two individuals, after cocaine was discovered in the vehicle they were traveling in, V.I.P.D. Media Specialist Sakeeda Freeman has announced.
The incident occurred on March 7 at about 4:27 p.m. at the intersection of Harwood Highway in the vicinity of the Calvary Christian Academy, and involved a red Jeep (police did not specify a model).
According to Ms. Freeman, upon conducting an investigation of the vehicle, a large amount of a white powdery substance was discovered. The white powdery substance field-tested positive for cocaine, she said.
Police arrested the driver of the vehicle, 40-year-old Jesus Del Rosario Randon, above left, and 21-year-old Khadin Calvin, above right, who police said was the passenger of the vehicle when the narcotic was discovered.
The suspects were charged with constructive possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, and turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending their advisement hearing.
