An abandoned house on Queen Cross Street in Frederiksted was on fire on Saturday morning, sending plumes of smoke into the sky as V.I. Fire Service personnel worked to quench it. The fire, which was said to have started after 9:00 a.m., burned for several hours.
According to a resident who resides in the neighborhood, a vagrant had lived in the abandoned house. This resident also said that three dogs died in the fire on Saturday.
