Man Shot Dead In Hospital Ground

ST. THOMAS — A man was pronounced dead on the scene after being shot multiple times in Hospital Ground in the wee hours of Saturday morning, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced over the weekend.

According to Mr. Dratte, at about 3:01 a.m. Saturday, officers on patrol reported via radio to central command that shots were fired in the Hospital Ground area. Upon arrival the scene, the officers reported that a man was found lifeless on the ground.

Emergency Medical Technicians on the scene examined the victim’s body and found that he had been shot multiple times; they also determined that he had no vital signs of life.

The victim was later transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center’s morgue. He was identified by his mother as 27-year-old Khalid J. Guishard, according to police.

Mr. Dratte said the incident was under investigation by the V.I.P.D.’s Major Crimes Unit.
