Service Interruptions Scheduled For Wednesday On St. Thomas And St. Croix

Community Center / News / Virgin Islands / May 15, 2018

In a release issued this afternoon, WAPA said some customers on St. Thomas and St. Croix will experience electrical service interruption on Wednesday while upgrades are made to the transmission and distribution system.

From 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., approximately 20 customers in Estate Crown and Hawk, on St. Thomas’s Feeder 6A, will experience electrical service interruption while crews install new service wires in the community, replacing current wires and upgrading the system.

From 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., electrical service will be interrupted to approximately 135 customers on a portion of St. Croix Feeder 3A. This scheduled service interruption will affect customers on Ginger Thomas Lane, Sea View Drive, David Oliver Drive, Tamarind Drive, Seagle Drive and Sunset Drive, while WAPA’s contractor Haugland Energy completes vertical construction on new pole lines on the South Shore Road.

Motorists traversing the areas where work is being performed are asked to proceed with caution, for the safety of crews and other drivers.

The Authority apologizes for any inconvenience caused by these service interruptions and assures customers that every effort will be made to restore electrical service as quickly as possible.
