After Hurricane Irma devastated the U.S. Virgin Islands, The Pafford SRT EMT and paramedics packed their bags and headed to St. Croix. While there they took on the primary role of providing patient care to those injured during these natural disasters.
Pafford Medical Services announced Nick Goff as the 2018 recipient of its Star of Life Award. Nick Goff stood out amongst his peers for his positive attitude, ability to lead and the motivation he provided his team.
Mr. Goff began his EMS career in 2013 and was deployed to four natural disasters in 2017 including to St. Croix, USVI as part of Pafford’s Special Response Teams. By delivering critical medical attention and advanced life support to injured and ill individuals at emergency scenes, Mr. Goff was thrilled to be able to make a difference in the lives of the patients he treated.
Earlier this week Delegate to Congress Stacey Plaskett met with Nick to express her gratitude for his service to the Virgin Islands and to discuss his experience. Goff spoke of how welcomed the Virgin Islanders made him feel. “Everyone was great, they welcomed us with open arms, fed us and made us feel like we were at home,” Mr. Goff said.
“People like you who came down to support us when we needed it the most are so appreciated,” said Ms. Plaskett as she expressed her gratitude.
