Lieutenant Governor Osbert Potter on Monday reminded corporations, partnerships, and LLC whether profit or non-profit, that their franchise taxes and reports are due on or before July 2, to avoid the assessment of penalty and interest. The deadline date is extended to July 2nd since June 30 falls on a Saturday, according to the release. The minimum franchise tax for domestic and foreign corporations is now $300 pursuant to Act No. 8027, Mr. Potter’s office said.
Customers may visit any of the Office of the Lieutenant Governor locations during the week of June 25 through July 2 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to submit reports and franchise taxes: in St. Thomas at the Builders Emporium; on St. Croix at Government House; and St. John at Islandia Building.
Cashier services are available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., according to the release. Reports and franchise tax payments are accepted by mail once the envelope is postmarked on or before July 2 to avoid penalty and interest. Checks should be made payable to the Government of the Virgin Islands and submitted to the following address:
