Central High School To Remain Closed Friday

Community Center / News / September 6, 2018

ST. CROIX — The Department of Education announced late Thursday that St. Croix Central High School will remain closed on Friday. Classes were dismissed early on September 6 as a result of a power outage caused by a small electrical fire in the kitchen, the department said.

The cafeteria and major classroom wings were affected and remain without electricity. The electrical component required for repairs is expected to arrive on-island over the weekend and installed.

D.O.E. said it will provide an update on the status of the school on Sunday. Parents and students are asked to visit the Department’s Facebook page and check local media for updates.
