ST. THOMAS — The Department of Education on Sunday announced that St. Croix Central High School will remain closed on Monday, September 10. Repairs to the school’s electrical system will continue into Monday.
Classes were dismissed early on September 6 as a result of a power outage caused by a small electrical fire in the kitchen. The cafeteria and major classroom wings were affected and remain without electricity.
As power restoration efforts make progress, the Department of Education will provide an update on the status of the school for Tuesday, September 11, according to the release. Parents and students are asked to visit the Department’s Facebook page and check local media for updates.
