The University of the Virgin Islands will conduct general election forums for senatorial and gubernatorial candidates on St. Thomas on October 15 and 16, and October 17 and 18 on St. Croix, respectively, the institution of higher learning has announced.
The forums will be held in the Administration and Conference Center (ACC), First-Floor, Room 142 and in the Great Hall on the Albert A. Sheen Campus. All forums will begin promptly at 6 p.m.
Director of the University’s Institute for Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness (ILOE), Dannica Thomas is extending an invitation to the UVI community and the general public who are encouraged to attend. For those who would like to ask questions, the questions must be submitted in advance to: [email protected].
The senatorial and gubernatorial forums are designed to provide candidates and the constituents they hope to serve with the opportunity to come together to hear, learn and understand from each other, UVI said.
“This is truly a critical time in the territory after two major hurricanes,” Ms. Thomas said. “Businesses and residents are seeking a plan of action for improving our economy, roads, schools, businesses, living conditions, among others from our government; this is the perfect opportunity for businesses and residents to come out and listen to the campaign platform agendas for the senatorial and gubernatorial candidates.”
Today, UVI released a poll it conducted in conjunction with VI Tech Stack that showed Governor Mapp and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Albert Bryan in a dead heat.
