The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority has activated an emergency call center on St. Croix, acting upon the sudden arrival of tropical storm Bertha as we move into the more active months of this year’s hurricane season.
Customers are urged to call 340-773-2250 and press option No. 7 or 340-773-0150 to report water and power problems. The firm is also cautioning residents to stay 10 feet or more away from downed power lines, trees or anything connected to a power line, assume all lines are energized, and promptly report any downed lines or problems to the emergency numbers provided atop.
