Crime Stoppers USVI Doubling Monetary Reward For Cold Case Information

Featured / News / Virgin Islands / February 5, 2019

Crime Stoppers USVI announced on Tuesday that it was doubling the monetary reward for information leading to the arrest of individuals involved in some cold cases. While the nonprofit was not able to give an exact amount because reward is dependent on the information provided, residents providing accurate information could receive anywhere between $2,500 to $10,000 — and, through this initiative, double that amount.

Crime Stoppers said it’s doubling the reward for information on the following crimes:

  • In 2008, on St. Croix, Shadrach Frett was the victim of multiple gunshot wounds while a patient at the Juan Luis Hospital.
  • Jumo Ritter was the victim of a homicide in 2008 at the Kingshill Bus Shanty, St. Croix.
  • Craig Thurston Liburd was the victim of a homicide in the vicinity of Frederiksted Cemetery in 2008.
  • In 2013, Earl Charles was identified by remains discovered in a burnt vehicle on St. Croix.
  • On Saturday, June 9, 2018, at approximately 4:31 p.m., the 911 Call Center received a call reporting a male in the Tutu High Rise Housing Community, St. Thomas, who had sustained a gunshot wound to his body. The male was transported to Schneider Regional Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries. The male was identified as 29-year-old Akeem Lettsome.
