ST. THOMAS — A vehicular accident in St. Thomas Sunday night left a 27-year-old woman dead, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte confirmed to The Consortium Monday.
Mr. Dratte said the incident occurred at about 7:00 p.m. Sunday, while a vehicle — an older model Ford Explorer — with four passengers inside, was headed down Maude Proudfoot Drive road.
According to the police report, the driver of the vehicle lost control and crashed into a tree while going down the hill, causing the vehicle to flip on its side. Mr. Dratte did not say what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
Out of the four individuals in the Ford Explorer, one woman, identified by next of kin as 27-year-old Dolka Sido, succumbed to injuries sustained during the accident, Mr. Dratte said.
Last month, two individuals died during a car accident in St. Croix on Rattan Road, both of whom were from the U.S. mainland.
