VITEMA And FEMA To Holde Educational Outreach Initiative

The Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency (VITEMA) is collaborating with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to conduct a Community Education Outreach initiative at Kmart/Sears locations on St. Croix. A schedule for the St. Thomas Community Education Outreach will be provided on a later date. The team will be available at the following St. Croix locations from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily:

• Kmart Sunny Isles through March 9

• Kmart/Sears Appliances Store from March 12 to 16

• Kmart West in Frederiksted from March 19 to 23

U.S. Virgin Islands residents can visit the above locations to receive information on:

• Flood Insurance

• Updated International Building Codes

• Hazard Mitigation Preparedness

• Hurricane and Tsunami preparedness

• The Youth Preparedness Council

• Questions on the Sheltering and Temporary Essential Power (STEP) program

• Example of the 10-day Disaster Supply kit

• Family Communication Plans
