Governor Bryan, Veterans Affairs Director To Celebrate Vietnam Veterans At Gov’t House Wednesday

Community Center / News / Virgin Islands / March 31, 2019

The Virgin Islands Office of Veterans Affairs and the Office of the Governor are teaming up to celebrate the territory’s Vietnam Veterans in honor of National Vietnam Veterans Day, Government House has announced.

Governor Albert Bryan and V.A. Director Patrick Farrell have invited all of the territory’s Vietnam Veterans (In-Country Veterans or Era Veterans) to the joint celebration, which will run from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Government House said transportation to St. Croix will be provided via boat for Vietnam Veterans living in the St. Thomas-St. John District. Vietnam Veterans needing transportation from St. Thomas are asked to visit the St. Thomas office as soon as possible to sign up and get additional details.

Government House is asking that participants sign up by 2:00 pm on Tuesday. The St. Thomas office is located directly across the street from the Nisky Moravian Church, in the MCH building on the first floor.

Attire for the event is Semi-Casual.

“This will be the first time in a long time that some of these Vietnam Veterans have seen each other. There may be a case or two where some may not have seen each other since being in transit to Vietnam or while they were in Vietnam”, Mr. Farrell said.

For further information, please call the Virgin Islands Office of Veterans Affairs in either district at (340) 773-8387 (STX) or (340) 774-8387(STT).
