A man was found Tuesday morning lying lifeless in an area the V.I.P.D. described as The Gut on Backstreet in St. Thomas. According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte, the victim, whose identity was withheld pending next of kin notification, bled out after allegedly being stabbed multiple times by a woman identified as 22-year-old Renique Francis, seen above.
Police were notified by the 911 emergency call center of the incident at about 4:45 a.m. Tuesday. Officers with the V.I.P.D.’s Criminal Investigation Bureau were immediately dispatched to the location. Upon their arrival, the victim was seen in the gut in a pool of blood. A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim suffered multiple stab wounds to the abdomen and expired as a result of thereof.
Ms. Francis was charged with first-degree murder and was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending her advisement hearing. Mr. Dratte said no bail was given.
