The wholesale price of gasoline moved upwards in the Virgin Islands today, as HOVENSA adjusted its rack rates.
The change will raise the rack rates, which is the price of fuel purchased at the HOVENSA truck-loading station on St. Croix for gasoline and diesel fuel, by 2¢ per gallon.
The new adjustments means independent gas station operators in the Virgin Islands are now paying $3.52 per gallon for regular gasoline, $3.72 per gallon for premium gasoline and $3.44 per gallon for diesel when they purchase their fuel from HOVENSA. The aforementioned prices include the 14-cents per-gallon tax that HOVENSA collects for the government.
The new rates are effective through Sunday.
