Easter camping is a long-held, almost sacred tradition on St. Croix, with thousands leaving the comfort of their homes and heading to the island’s many beaches, and church grounds, among other outdoor locations, to spend at least three days of fellowship.
Some, especially the island’s Hispanic population, start their camping season a week before Holy Thursday, and stay long after Easter has come and gone.
From Cramer Park, seen above, to Salt River’s Columbus Landing, to the Frederiksted Public Beach, residents of St. Croix can be seen throughout the weekend having a great time.
The Consortium will have a video showing campers at various locations, just as we’ve done in years past.
