Elementary School Volleyball League To Start May 6 On St. Croix

The St. Croix Interscholastic Volleyball Association Elementary School Volleyball League will be contested from May 6 to June 6, with the participation of 18 teams representing private and public schools in St. Croix, the association has announced.

The matches of the regular series will be disputed in various Christiansted and Frederiksted schools throughout the island, the release said. Last year’s female and male champions were the Ricardo Richards Lady Berries and the Pearl B. Larsen Dolphins. 

According to the release, the Virgin Islands Volleyball Federation is supplying all the Molten balls which were donated by the NORCECA Confederation for the development of volleyball in the Virgin Islands.

The balls were delivered in a recently held ceremony at Good Hope/Country Day School. Desiree Miranda, 1st vice president and SCIAA vice president Amy Carter attended the ceremony. NORCECA and the VIVF were represented by Lucille Hobson, 2nd vice president and president of the Virgin Islands Volleyball Federation respectively.
