Virgin Islanders on Emancipation Day marched onto Bernard Cuffy’s property in celebration of his landmark victory in court Tuesday. Judge Jomo Meade ruled that Mr. Cuffy had the right to use the path leading to his lot, and rejected all relief sought by plaintiffs looking to block him. Virgin Islanders of all ages marched, chanted, sang, and danced during the event. It was deemed the most fitting way to commemorate Emancipation Day in the USVI on this 171st anniversary. Watch.
