A tropical wave will make its way through the Virgin Islands tonight and it has the potential of becoming a tropical depression as it proceeds, dumping up to 6 inches of rain in some locations and winds of 30 to 35 mph.
That’s according to Felix Castro, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in San Juan, Puerto Rico, who also said that the conditions were ripe for development.
“Conditions will start deteriorating tonight,” he said, adding that conditions should start changing around 8 p.m. tonight.
Felix also revealed that a Hurricane Hunter aircraft was scheduled to fly into the storm tonight to determine if it had already turned into a tropical depression.
As for the weather, Castro said that it would continue to be unpleasant on Friday, however things should start clearing up by Saturday.
