ST. CROIX — A 20-year-old man succumbed to injuries sustained during a shooting Saturday night in the Mutual Homes housing community in Estate Grove, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced via release.
According to the V.I.P.D., at around 7:43 p.m. Saturday the 911 emergency call center received a report of shots fired in Mutual Homes, and that a man had sustained injuries.
Upon officers’ and detectives’ arrival to the location, they found the lifeless body of a Black male later identified by next of kin as Taheem “Debo” Samuel of Mutual Homes, Mr. Dratte said.
The victim’s body was found outside building 33. Detectives canvassed the area in an attempt to locate possible witnesses with negative results, Mr. Dratte said.
The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body, according to police.
