ST. THOMAS — Sunday’s 4.4 magnitude earthquake rattled St. Thomas residents but caused no significant damage and no injuries were reported.
Richard Motta, Government House Director of Communications, said the governor’s office had received no damage reports as of Monday morning.
The earthquake was felt across St. Thomas. Surprised residents took to social media to describe their experiences and to see who else heard the deep rumbling sound that was followed by several seconds of shaking.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was recorded at 5:42 p.m. about three miles southwest of St. Thomas.
