ST. THOMAS — An 18-year-old man in St. Thomas was arrested and charged for the rape of a minor, who police say was raped five times by the suspect, new V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Karl Caesar announced Monday. Mr. Caesar said the suspect, seen above, identified as Marciano Rivera of Annas Retreat in St. Thomas, would also threaten the minor with a knife while the sexual assault was occurring.
Mr. Marciano was arrested at 10:45 p.m. Sunday and charged with first-degree aggravated rape.
According to the V.I.P.D. release, on Monday, July 29 at approximately 6:00 p.m., the Criminal Investigation Bureau, based on a report, traveled to the Roy L. Schneider Regional Medical Center in reference to the sexual assault.
Upon arrival, officers contacted the 13-year-old male minor, who stated that on July 15, 2019 at about 4:30 p.m., he was sexually assaulted by Mr. Rivera and said that the July 15 incident was one of five times he was sexually assaulted by the suspect.
The victim also stated that the adult male would have a knife in hand while sexually assaulting him, and threatened to kill him and the other minor children if he told anyone, Mr. Caesar said.
Mr. Rivera was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advisement hearing.
