Dale LeFebvre, a respected Virgin Islands businessman and great contributor to the community, has been appointed to the Advisory Committee on the Arts for the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington by President Barack Obama.
Originally from Texas, LeFebvre is the founder and chairman of 3.5.7.11, a financial holdings company that’s also part of the Economic Development Commission (EDC) in the territory.
“I am grateful that these impressive individuals have chosen to dedicate their talents to serving the American people at this important time for our country,” Obama said. “I look forward to working with them in the months and years ahead.”
LeFebvre has been a big financial contributor to education in the Virgin Islands, donating $250,000 to the University of the Virgin Islands to provided money for two university programs, as well as $100,000 through the LeFebvre Endowed Student Fellowship Award, to provide scholarships and transportation stipends for a sophomore and junior accounting student each year they attend UVI.
Devised first by President Dwight Eisenhower, the Kennedy Center is America’s cultural arts center and a living memorial to President Kennedy, who was responsible for leading the efforts to fund the center.
