Ashley Furniture Store Opens On St. Croix This Friday

News / Virgin Islands / August 28, 2014

A new Ashley Furniture Store will open its doors on Friday, August 29 at 9am on St. Croix in the United Shopping Plaza.

The grand opening will include discounts on selected items and a DJ to keep the crowed entertained. The Virgin Islands Consortium will be on hand to cover the activities and get an understanding of the owner’s vision.

Ashley Furniture Industries, Inc. is a furniture manufacturing company headquartered in Arcadia, Wisconsin. The firm has a branch called the ‘Ashley Furniture HomeStores’ comprised of corporate and independently owned stores with licenses to sell Ashley Furniture products exclusively, including mattresses and accessories.

As of June 2014, there were 520 Ashley Furniture HomeStore retail furniture stores operating worldwide. The company is also the largest retail brand of home furniture and accessories.

The new St. Croix store is owned by Ahmad Hussein of the Best Furniture, and will help bring more variety to furniture offerings on St. Croix.

Correction: An earlier version of this article stated that Best Furniture was no longer in business because its owners had transformed the entire store into an Ashley Furniture store. That’s incorrect, as we were told today while at the store’s grand opening. Best Furniture will remain open, albeit a minimized offering, while most of the showroom space has been designated for Ashley Furniture Store products.

I wear many hats, I suppose, but the one which fits me best would be journalism, second to that would be radio personality, thirdly singer/songwriter and down the line. I've been the Editor-In-Chief at my videogames website, Gamesthirst, for over 5 years, writing over 7,000 articles and more than 2 million words. I'm also very passionate about where I live, the United States Virgin Islands, and I'm intent on making it a better place by being resourceful and keeping our leaders honest. VI Consortium was birthed out of said desire, hopefully my efforts bear fruit. Reach me at [email protected].
