USVI Festivals Division Invites Committee Chair Applicants

The U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism’s Division of Festivals is calling for applicants interested in chairing festival committees for St. Thomas and St. John, D.O.T. has announced.

Ian Turnbull, director of the new division, confirmed that committee chairs for St. Croix were already appointed, but urged residents to send in their resumes for St. Thomas-St. John vacancies. The application deadline is Monday, October 21, 2019. 

Committees include Awards, Calypso, Cultural Affairs, Food Fair, Hospital Show, Hospitality, Junior Calypso, Judges, Music, Parade, Prince & Princess competition, Queen’s Village, and Water Sports.  

On St. Croix, King Derby & Calypso Inc. has been appointed chair for the Junior Calypso Competition; Jason Gardener for the Miss St. Croix Pageant; Shanisa Emmanuel for the Prince/Princess competition; Dean Baptiste for the Calypso Show; Alvin Burke for Soca Monarch; Bradley Christian for the Food Fair; and Kendal Henry and Akeel Phillips for Parades. A committee chair will be soon be announced for the Festival Village.
