For St. Croix residents who own a business or who have a great business idea, the Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (VIEDA) wants to help.
The Authority will be hosting a free Small Business Camp Weekend training program for entrepreneurs, executives, non-profit leaders, and anyone that has a business idea. The camp will be held at the Virgin Islands Small Business Development Center on St. Croix, located at 4100 Sion Farm Shopping Center in Suite 16 on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and on Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
According to a news release issued about the event, the camp will teach attendees how to “generate sales online, package their ideas for profit, write a book in a weekend, build a team, attract investors, and much more.”
The camp will be instructed by the president of the Small Business Camp, Andrew Morrison, a celebrated millionaire who has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Entrepreneur Magazine, The Network Journal, Crain’s 40 Under 40 and Advertising Age. Morrison also built a multi-million dollar company by providing innovative direct marketing services to Fortune 500 companies, and has trained thousands of entrepreneurs from Hawaii to Nigeria, lectured at Harvard University and has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show.
“During this weekend program, you will be able to walk in with an idea and really begin to learn the steps on how to take your vision for success in business and really make that vision tangible,” Morrison said. “I invite people to come with their potential for success so that we can make that happen. I am excited about the possibilities the Small Business Camp Weekend will bring to the people of the U.S. Virgin Islands.”
VIEDA’s Chief Executive Officer Percival E. Clouden added: “It certainly is a pleasure for the VIEDA to join with Mr. Andrew Morrison as we offer this training program, Small Business Camp Weekend, to the people of the U.S. Virgin Islands, particularly to our entrepreneurs and other individuals who aspire to learn how they can turn their dream of owning a business into reality.”
