Group Health Insurance Offices Closed Thru Oct. 31

Health / News / Virgin Islands / October 13, 2014

Kenneth L. Hermon, Jr., director of the Division of Personnel, has announced that beginning on Mon., Oct. 13 through Fri., Oct. 31, the Group Health Insurance offices in both the St. Thomas and St. Croix districts will be closed all day.

Of the closure, Hermon said it was “necessary to allow the Group Health Insurance employees to input the large volume of Health Insurance Open Enrollment forms received during the open enrollment period, which ended on September 30, 2014. These changes have to be made timely to ensure that each retiree and employee’s coverage is accurately reported to our Health Insurance carriers.”

The Group Health Insurance offices will resume normal business hours on Mon., Nov. 3 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In case of an emergency, residents should contact Rochelle Benjamin, acting chief, at 340-774-8588.

Hermon recently resigned from the director position he has held since the start of the de Jongh Administration in 2006. His last day on the job will be Nov. 1.
