The Virgin Islands Department of Education (DOE) has announced that all public schools — in both the St. Croix and St. Thomas-St. John districts, are being dismissed at 1:00 p.m. today, due to inclement weather affecting the territory.
Parents are being asked to pick up their children, DOE said in a press release, and school buses will also be available.
The VI Consortium team has been on the road documenting the heavy rainfall activity, and we can confirm that traveling today is dangerous. We saw accidents, stalled vehicles, broken trees and heavy flooding, so please take extra care while picking up your children.
