Jose Miguel Hernandez Rosa, 29, of Marley Homes on St. Croix, was found fatally wounded by gunfire on Jan. 16 in Estate Whim, according to police spokesperson, Melody Rames.

At 5:07 p.m. Friday police were dispatched to the scene with witness reports of gunfire in the vicinity of 37F Whim, police say.

Upon arrival at the scene, police saw a Hispanic male on the ground with gunshot wounds to his body. EMTs at the scene found no vital signs on the victim.

Hernandez Rosa is also known by the alias, “Cuero.” His murder is the first recorded homicide in the territory for 2015.
