Christensen Joins Kalalloo Network As Contributor, Co-Host

Caribbean / Government / News / Politics / Virgin Islands / January 22, 2015

Former Virgin Islands Congresswoman Donna M. Christensen has joined St. Croix-based Kalalloo Network & SEDI Broadcasting (Caribbean Public Broadcasting), and Center for Caribbean Studies & Development as a regular contributor and co-host.

Christensen can be heard on the network’s weekly financial news magazine broadcast, The Economic Round Table & The Marketplace. It airs Mondays from 12:30-2:30 p.m. AST, with LIVE simulcasting on AM 970 WSTX and the Kalalloo Network.

Anthony Weeks, executive producer, says Christensen will be an asset as a political and medical analyst, “offering invaluable insight and knowledge on matters of geopolitics and healthcare throughout the U.S. and Caribbean-Latin American region, considering her long service and tenure as an elected and government official.”

Prior to her 18-year tenure in political office, Christensen was a medical doctor.

Christensen is expected to contribute to the show via telephone on Monday, Jan. 26 from Washington, D.C., where she will be attending the Caribbean Energy Conference hosted by Vice President Joe Biden.

Weeks said the former gubernatorial candidate is no stranger to his network’s airwaves. As congresswoman, she was “the first and original contributor to the show’s segment, Report from Capitol Hill, when it first debuted in 2005,” he said. New Delegate to Congress Stacey Plaskett will continue contributing to the show.

Christensen told VI Consortium this week she would be spending much of her time in Washington, D.C. in order to be closer to her family that lives there. She plans to continue making frequent trips to the territory.
