Woman Injured In Hidden Valley Cell Phone Robbery

A St. Thomas woman sustained a cut on her right elbow when she was attacked and robbed of her cell phone while walking in Hidden Valley on Tuesday, according to information released today by VIPD spokeswoman, Melody Rames.

The incident took place just before 10 p.m.

According to preliminary reports, the victim was approached by a man, whom police describe as “slim with braids in his hair,” that demanded her cell phone.

The two struggled for the phone, during which time the victim was cut by an unknown object on her right elbow. The suspect fled with the cell phone.

The woman was transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center in a private vehicle and was treated for her injuries.

Police are investigating the incident as a first degree robbery.

Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives are following up on the case.
