The University of the Virgin Islands and the Bureau of Internal Revenue are once again teaming up to provide territory residents with the free filing of their 2014 income tax returns.
The Volunteer Taxpayer Assistance Program begin on all three islands on Sat., February 21 and run through April 11, with the exception of Sat., April 4, according to information released by UVI.
Assistance will be provided by the university’s accounting students on a first-come first-served basis for forms 1040EZ and 1040A only.
On St. Thomas, the program will take place at the bureau’s office at 6115 Estate Smith Bay, in Red Hook, across the street from the Red Hook dock from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
On St. Croix, it will be held at the bureau’s office at 4008 Estate Diamond from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
And on St. John, the program will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the bureau’s office located at the Motor Vehicle Bureau in Cruz Bay.
Taxpayers should have all W-2s, 1099Rs (Retirement Income), Form 1099s (Interest and Other Income), and Form SSA (Social Security Income) readily available in order to be served.
