A man sitting in his car with a female friend during the early-morning hours of Feb. 17 was carjacked at gunpoint near the vicinity of Rhythms at Rainbow Beach on St. Croix, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced.
Jackson said the victim walked into the Wilbur Francis Command Center in Frederiksted at about 12:55 a.m. Tuesday to report the incident. According to the victim, he and the female friend were sitting in his car when they noticed a car pulling up directly behind them. Two masked men emerged from the vehicle with guns drawn and demanded the two get out of the car. Once the victims were out of their car, the suspects drove off with both vehicles into the Frederiksted town area.
No descriptions of the gunmen were provided, other than that they were dressed in black with masks covering their faces.
The stolen vehicle was described by the victim as a red, 4-door 2013 Ford Focus with License Plate No. CEQ-636.
