Osbert Grant, 47, of Liefte Gade, St. Thomas, was arrested Thursday and charged with false imprisonment, domestic violence, after locking his wife and their two children in their home.
According to Kevin Jackson, VIPD public information officer, the incident took place at around 10:15 a.m. on March 12 when police were called to the residence. Upon arrival of the officers, the victim was able to exit the home. According to the victim, Grant had refused to let her and the children out of the home, once he learned of their plans to relocate off-island.
Grant was placed under arrest and charged with false imprisonment, domestic violence without bail and was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advise-of-rights hearing.
