VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced the following arrests on St. Thomas from March 20 to March 22.
Friday, March 20 – Glasford M. Smith, 51, of Contant Knolls, was arrested at 2:35 p.m. and charged with third degree burglary and domestic violence in connection with an incident that occurred the same day where he broke into and entered his daughter’s apartment, destroying property in the home. No bail was set by court order and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending an advise-of-rights hearing.
Saturday, March 21 – Kenneth Matthias, 53, of John Folly, was placed under citizens’ arrest at 8:30 p.m. and charged with simple assault following an incident at a local bar and restaurant. Bail for Matthias was set at $500.
Sunday, March 22 – Ricardo Rhymer, 32, of Anna’s Fancy, was arrested at 1:14 a.m.and charged with third degree assault. Rhymer was positively identified as the person that stabbed a victim twice with a knife. Rhymer’s bail was set at $25,000. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections, pending an advise-of-rights hearing.
Sunday, March 22 – Al Smith, 41, of Estate Pastory, was arrested at 5:15 a.m. and charged with destruction of property. Smith was positively identified as the individual causing a disturbance and destroying his girlfriend’s glass louvers to her apartment.
Photos of the St. Thomas arrests have not been made available to media by the VIPD. VI Consortium reached out to the police department and was informed that images would be distributed, should they become available. The VIPD distributed photos of the St. Croix arrests in early March.
