Deadline For Filing Tax Returns Is Today

Featured / News / Virgin Islands / April 15, 2015

ST. THOMAS – The deadline for filing your income tax return or submitting a request for a three-month extension is today.

The Virgin Islands Bureau of Internal Revenue offices are located at 6115 Smith Bay in St. Thomas and 4008 Estate Diamond in St. Croix.

The IRB has extended office hours today – from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. – to accommodate everyone trying to meet the filing deadline.

IRB employees will be on hand to stamp tax payer returns and answer general questions.

Residents should file 2014 returns or extension forms by the deadline to avoid penalties, IRB Director designee Marvin Pickering said.

An incorrect or missing Social Security number can increase the processing time of a refund and could increase the amount of tax due and the time it takes to receive a refund, the IRB said.

For more information you can call the IRB at 773-1040 or 715-1040 or email [email protected]
