St. Croix Fugitive Wanted On Murder Charges Captured In Florida

ST. CROIX — Fugitive from justice Javon T.S. Duparl was extradited back to the island by Florida police on Wednesday for charges related to a 2013 murder in Frederiksted, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced today.

Duparl was wanted in relation to the June, 2013 murder of Andy Peters that occurred in the Lorraine Village Apartments in Frederiksted.

Duparl was arrested in Orange County, Florida on a concealed weapon and narcotics possession charge. However, while being processed, police discovered that Duparl was wanted on murder charges in the Virgin Islands.

The suspect remains in police custody.
