Man Gun-Butted, Shot At Multiple Times In Williams Delight After Refusing To Give Suspect Money

Breaking News / News / Virgin Islands / June 20, 2015

ST. CROIX — A man who said he was visiting an area in Williams Delight called “the turf”, told police he was approached by another man who demanded money and proceeded to assault him when he told the suspect that he had none, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced via press release on Saturday.

According to Jackson, officers and detectives were dispatched to the scene after the emergency call center received a notification of the incident at about 11:15 p.m. on Friday.

Upon their arrival, offices met with the victim who made known that the suspect began beating him about the head with the butt of a gun, and fired shots after him while he was attempting to flee the scene.

The victim, who, according to the police report was uncooperative and declined to give the identity of the suspect who assaulted him, was transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center for treatment.

Police are continuing their investigation into the case.
