ST. CROIX — A woman was shot in the shoulder and her neck was grazed by a bullet during a Christiansted house party in the wee hours of Saturday morning, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson has announced.
According to Jackson, the 911 emergency call center received notification from the Juan F. Luis Hospital that a victim had walked in with gunshot wounds seeking medical treatment.
Officers subsequently responded to the call and met with the 29-year-old female victim, who stated that she was in the Richmond area, standing outside a private residence where there was a house party when she was suddenly approached by four individuals with guns.
The suspects told the frightened victim not to move, but one of perpetrators decided to fire shots, hitting the victim in the shoulder while another bullet grazed her neck.
The victim then hustled to the hospital via private transportation.
Detectives are continuing their investigation into the incident.
