St. Croix Arrests: July 25-27

VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced the following arrests on St. Croix from July 25-27.

Saturday, July 25, 2015 – Raynard Taheem Knight, 27, who has no fixed address, was arrested and charged with first degree assault after he punched his girlfriend in the face causing visible injuries, brandished a taser and attempted to tase her as well. Knight was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advise-of-rights hearing.

Sunday, July 26, 2015 – Hector C. Torres, 23, of Good Hope Town Houses was arrested and charged with second degree assault in connection with an incident where he strangled his girlfriend. Torres was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advise-of-rights hearing.


Monday, July 27, 2015 – Egbert Jeremiah, 61 of Estate Grove Place was arrested and charged with destruction of property in connection with an incident where he destroyed several items in the home of his wife. Jeremiah was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advise-of-rights hearing.

Monday, July 27, 2015 – Jose A. Rivera, 32 of Campo Rico was arrested and charged destruction of property at 8:10 p.m., after he poured automobile oil onto an officer’s uniform while at the Police Station. Rivera was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advise-of-rights hearing.

Monday, July 27, 2015 – K’Shawn Hughes, 18 of Peter’s Rest was arrested and charged with third degree assault after he entered a commercial establishment and hurled a rock at an employee in the presence of others, causing visible injury to the victim. Unable to make bail of $25,000, Hughes was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advise-of-rights hearing.
