VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced the following arrests on St. Thomas from August 1-5.
Saturday, August 1, 2015 – Clement Bruney, 51 of Anna’s Retreat was arrested and charged with grand larceny at 1:40 p.m. after he allegedly went into the Home Depot, picked up a power saw valued at $250.00 and attempted to leave the premises without paying for it. Unable to make bail of $35,000, Bruney was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advise-of-rights hearing.
Saturday, August 1, 2015 – Venetia Fredericks, 39 of the Oswald Harris Court Housing Community was arrested and charged with simple assault and battery at 2:20 p.m. after admitting to officers that she’d punched her daughter in the eye during a domestic dispute. Fredericks was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending her advise-of-rights hearing.
Saturday, August 1, 2015 – Francis Serieux, 42 of Estate Bovoni was arrested and charged with aggravated assault at 2:45 p.m. after having been positively identified by the claimant as the person who had assaulted her with a belt and punched her in the face. Serieux was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advise-of-rights hearing.
Tuesday, August 4, 2015 – Valerie Peralta, 23 of Crystal Gade was arrested and charged with simple assault and battery at 6:00 p.m. in connection with an incident where she assaulted her boyfriend. Peralta was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending her advise-of-rights hearing.
Wednesday, August 5, 2015 – Rafael A. Compres, 31 of Estate Bethany was arrested and charged with disturbance of the peace at 2:00 a.m. after having been positively identified as the person who pushed his wife in the chest and threatened to do her bodily harm with a knife. Compres was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advise-of-rights hearing.
Wednesday, August 5, 2015 – Kevin Porter, 36 of Frydenhoj was arrested and charged with simple assault and destruction of property at 8:21 p.m. after he turned himself in to officers; reporting that he had damaged an individual’s vehicle and mobile phone. Porter was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections, pending his advise of rights hearing.
