ST. CROIX — A carjacking incident at the Gas for Less Service Station located in Sunny Isle left two female victims without transportation and one of them shaken by the incident, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced on Friday.
According to Jackson, the incident occurred at about 8:35 p.m. when one of the victims, wanting to make a purchase, exited the vehicle and left her sister in it while she made her way into the convenience store. After the 911 emergency call center received notification of the incident, VIPD officers were immediately dispatched to the area, where they found the the two victims.
The victim who went into the convenience store told officers that she’d parked her vehicle in the most northern portion of the service station and left her sister in the vehicle with the keys in the ignition. While inside, she heard a scream and ran out the store towards her vehicle, where she saw two men dressed in dark clothing with their faces covered as her sister was being pushed out of the Honda Acura car.
The victim who remained in the car was unharmed during the incident. She told officers that while she was sitting in the vehicle waiting for her sister, she noticed a young male standing at the door of the car with a black bandanna covering his face, gun in hand and demanding that she get out of the vehicle. The suspect placed the gun to her head as the second male sat in the driver’s seat, wearing dark pants, a white t-shirt with a dark t-shirt covering his face.
The victims were unable to provide police with any other description of the suspects, as they drove off in the gold-colored Honda Acura, license plate number CDF-002, belonging to one of the victims.
