St. Thomas Arrests: August 14-18

VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced the following arrests on St. Thomas from August 14-18.

Friday, August 14, 2015 – A fourteen 14-year-old male minor residing in Hospital Ground was charged with disturbance of the peace (DV) at 11:00 a.m., in connection with an incident where he assaulted his Mother, threatened to break the rear window of his Father’s vehicle and then dented the vehicle with his fists. The minor was turned over to the Department of Human Services to be remanded to the Youth Rehabilitation Center.

Saturday, August 15, 2015 – Royette John, 44 of Bovoni was arrested and charged with third degree assault (DV) in connection with an incident that transpired on Monday, August 3, 2015. The claimant stated the same date at approximately 7:15 p.m., Royette John came to his workstation at the Bolongo Bay Beach Resort and began to verbally abuse him, and attempted to stab him with a knife as he fought her off. John was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending her advise-of-rights hearing.


Sunday, August 16, 2015 – at roughly 11:30pm officers responded to a report of a stabbing victim seeking treatment at the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center emergency room. Officers met with the victim, who stated that at 10:20 p.m. while he was in the suspect’s vehicle driving along the Emil “Milo” Francis Roadway headed towards Red Hook, they got into an argument. As he emerged from the vehicle and began to walk away, the suspect then came after him in an aggressive manner, the two engaged in a physical struggle and the suspect stabbed him in the hand with a knife. The victim further stated that as he ran away, the suspect then followed him in their vehicle and ran him down with it.

Monday, August 17, 2015 – Gamba Potter, 29 (address unknown) was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and battery (DV) , after he was positively identified by the victim as the individual who punched her in the face. Potter was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections, pending his advise-of-rights hearing.

Tuesday, August 18, 2015 – a ‘Jane Doe’ was arrested and charged with second degree aggravated rape for an incident that occurred in Simmonds Alley, where she sexually assaulted a woman and made her perform sexual acts. ‘Jane Doe’ was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending her advise-of-rights hearing.

Tuesday, August 18, 2015 – Dante Jahi Tonge, 19 of West Caret Bay was arrested and charged with the illegal discharge of a firearm (DV) in connection with an incident where he was involved in an altercation at home with his Father, and fired several shots in the air. Tonge was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advise-of-rights hearing.

Tuesday, August 18, 2015 – John D. Hodges, 46 of Frydenhoj was arrested and charged with second degree assault (DV) after he strangled his wife, slammed her head against the concrete floor and threatened to slit her throat with a knife. Hodges was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his Advise of Rights Hearing.
