ST. THOMAS — The West Indian Company, Ltd has announced the following cruise ship cancellations due to Hurricane Danny’s proximity to the U.S. Virgin Islands:
- Carnival Liberty scheduled to berth at the WICO dock on Monday, August 24th, has rescheduled and will now arrive on Friday, August 28th. Revised arrival and departure times will be announced at a later date.
- Carnival Glory scheduled to berth at the WICO dock on Tuesday, August 25th has cancelled. Carnival Cruise Lines has not provided a revised itinerary for this ship.
- Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas will make an unscheduled call on Friday, August 28th. Rescheduled arrival and departure times will be announced at a later date.
- Adventure of the Seas will return for its scheduled call on Sunday, August 30th, arriving at 7:30 a.m. and departing at 5:00 p.m.
“Due to the projected path of Hurricane Danny to the territory, the U.S. Coast Guard will close our port to all inbound traffic at 4 p.m., Sunday, August 23rd and completely close the port to all traffic at 4 p.m., Monday, August 24th,” Joseph B. Boschulte, President and CEO of the West Indian Company, Ltd. announced. “At a time like this, given the severity of weather conditions, our priority and those of the cruise lines is the safety of passengers, crew and employees.”
WICO says it will continue to provide regular updates to the public and its stakeholders as weather conditions evolve.
