Breaking News / BVI / News / Virgin Islands / September 10, 2015

TORTOLA – The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force is reporting that four men are now in custody facing possible firearm and drug possession charges following a stop/search operation early this morning.

Police stopped a vehicle in the Crablot area in Road Town around 2:30 a.m. with the four men inside.

One of the four exited the vehicle with a firearm.

After a command to drop the firearm, the suspect was shot.

Police say that suspect fled the area but was later apprehended and taken to Peebles Hospital for treatment and his wound is not believed to be life-threatening.

A quantity of illegal drugs was taking into custody.

Police investigations are ongoing.
