BVI Government Bringing Debt Relief To Hospital Patients With Outstanding Bills Prior To 2015

TORTOLA — Patients owing Peebles Hospital here are being given some debt relief.

The Financial Services Department within the British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority said it is hosting a Debt Relief Promotion to assist patients with outstanding Hospital bills.

Financial Comptroller Angelina John stated that the Authority has quite a number of outstanding bills and they have taken into consideration the concerns voiced by many and want to provide some financial relief.

John said the Debt Relief Promotion affords all patients with bills prior to 2015 the opportunity to obtain a discount of 10-45 percent off their total bill.”

In addition to the discount, persons can be placed on payment plans that best fit each individual’s financial circumstance. Similarly, persons with existing payment plans can upgrade their existing plan to take advantage of the promotion.

The promotion also allows patients up to four years to repay the full bill.

John said members of the Financial Services team will serve as guests on local radio and television stations over the coming weeks to provide the community with more information regarding the Debt Relief Promotion and the operations of the BVIHSA’s Admissions, Billing and Collections Unit within the Financial Services Department.

The Debt Relief Promotion takes immediate effect with an expiration date of 30th November 2015.

Persons with outstanding bills are encouraged to call the Billing and Collections Unit.
